Yoruichi had a very pampered childhood. She could have whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted it. Toys, games, clothing, whatever she so desired. Her parents were very wealthy, the family owned a very successful business, and she reaped the benefits. Of course, having everything she wanted wasn't enough for her, so the young Yoruichi was a bit of a troublemaker. She didn't hang out with a "bad crowd" that got her into trouble or anything of the sort. Instead, she simply did things her own way, and tended to get scolded for not obeying rules, skipping class, or coming home with bruises very often. As Yoruichi grew, she learned that her parents would expect her to one day take over the company. They began taking her to social events, dolling her up and showing her off. When she was old enough, her father hired her as a part-time office assistant, just so she could start to get a grasp for how the company worked. But that wasn't what she wanted. During her college years, she grew increasingly aware of the fact that the day she would be expected to take over was coming far too quickly for her tastes, so one day during her junior year she simply stopped attending classes, and left campus with one of her childhood friends, leaving no clues as to where she was going or even a good-bye note. She took her clothing, enough money to get her started on her own, and her guitar, her only possession that she really cared about at all. It was around that time that Kisuke, her childhood friend, decided to open up a coffee shop. He hadn't even offered her a job when she announced that she'd be a waitress there. It was a perfect job for her really; the manager knew that he couldn't always keep tabs on her, that she would be in when she wanted, and that kind of flexibility was all she's ever really cared about in life. And while she still plays her guitar in her free time, she doesn't really aspire to be a famous musician, or anything of that matter. She just wants to go through her life comfortably, and do it her way. |
